Gwinnett County opposes new state law that burdens taxpayers

Gwinnett County will pursue legal action challenging Senate Bill 138, which became law on May 15. This legislation imposes unconstitutional and costly mandates related to the new city of Mulberry that will burden ALL Gwinnett taxpayers. The bill threatens county sovereign immunity, mandates unfunded stormwater maintenance, creates unequal police funding obligations, and eliminates election cost reimbursements, all of which could lead to higher taxes and reduced services for residents.

We remain committed to protecting all taxpayers and ensuring fair governance. Learn more at our website.
