Archer grad Aleem Ford makes NBA debut for Orlando Magic

Archer grad Aleem Ford made his NBA debut Friday night after joining the shorthanded Orlando Magic on a 10-day contract.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound rookie fills a void for Orlando, which had five players in health
and safety protocols for Friday’s game with Miami.
He had two points and a steal in 6 minutes, 46 seconds of a 115-105 loss to the Heat.
Ford has played in 12 games this season for the Lakeland Magic, Orlando’s G-League affiliate,
averaging 9.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28 minutes per game.
He signed with Lakeland in November after beginning his pro basketball career
in Puerto Rico earlier this year with Leones de Ponce.
Ford finished his college basketball career at Wisconsin with the 2020-21 season.
He signed with the Badgers after one post-graduate season at IMG Academy (Fla.).
