A new park is coming to Gwinnett
|
|
|
County officials recently broke ground on the future Discovery Park, which will be the 53rd park in Gwinnett Parks and Recreation's system. The park — located at the intersection of Old Norcross and Lawrenceville-Suwanee roads — will offer accessibility and recreational features for park-goers like a lighted multiuse trail, ball fields, an interactive fountain, and an inclusive playground for children of all ages and abilities. The $28 million project is funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, known as SPLOST. To learn more about how your pennies are working in Gwinnett, visit GwinnettSPLOST.com.

Gwinnett Police to hold annual back-to-school supply drive
|
|
|
The Gwinnett Police Department needs your help to collect school supplies for students during the Operation Children Thrive back-to-school supply drive now through July 17. You can help our officers ensure that all students have the supplies they need to succeed in the upcoming 2024 to 2025 school year.
Residents can drop items off at Police headquarters or any of the six Gwinnett Police precincts around the county.

Join Gwinnett Code Enforcement, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, Gwinnett Solid Waste Management, and Gwinnett Transportation on Monday, June 24 at the Dacula Park Activity Building to share feedback about your neighborhood. Join us at an interactive design workshop on Wednesday, June 26 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm or on Thursday, June 27 from 9:00am to noon or 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Zoar United Methodist Church in Snellville to help identify the vision for the future of Centerville. Celebrate Pride in the Park on June 29
|
|
Mark your calendars for the County’s Pride in the Park event on Saturday, June 29 from 8:00am to 1:00pm at Bethesda Park in Lawrenceville. Bring the entire family to enjoy a wellness walk with a twist, recognizing trailblazers in the LGBTQ+ community. Then, join View Point Health, Live Healthy Gwinnett, and other vendors for on-site health screenings and wellness resources!
Event registration and check-in begins at 8:00am, with the wellness walk beginning at 9:00am and all other activities from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Arrive early for Yoga Flow with Kim to stretch before the walk. The first 250 registrants will receive a Pride in the Park T-shirt and free King of Pops! RSVP at GwinnettCounty.com/PrideinthePark.

Get free plumbing services through the Water Resources Assistance Program
|
|
|
Receive assistance with leaks, septic system repairs, and other plumbing issues through the Water Resources Assistance Program, or WRAP. The program is a partnership between Gwinnett Water Resources and local organizations. WRAP provides eligible homeowners with plumbing services, septic system repair, and water-saving fixtures at no cost. To qualify, applicants must live in Gwinnett County, own and live in the home where the work will occur, and earn an annual household income that is 60 percent of the Area Median Income or less. County offices closed for Independence Day
|
|
|
All Gwinnett County Government offices, apart from operations required for the comfort and safety of residents, will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day and will resume regular hours on Friday, July 5. Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day following the holiday on July 4. For more information, visit GCSolidWaste.com. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center during the holiday.

Due to U.S. Postal Service mail delays, we encourage you to use online services to renew your tag, pay property taxes, and more. If you're renewing your tag and need your decal immediately, use one of the 10 self-service kiosks located around Gwinnett.
