Join us for an evening of soul food, music, and a cultural exhibit displayed throughout the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center. Also, meet our special guest speaker, Dr. Terrence Roberts, one of the Little Rock Nine. County considers opting out of Statewide Adjusted Base Year Homestead Exemption

Did you know Gwinnett County Government is one of the few local governments in the state of Georgia that already offers a better tax exemption for homeowners than the one introduced in House Bill 581?

Gwinnett County is considering opting out of the new Statewide Adjusted Base Year Homestead Exemption introduced in House Bill 581 and will hold the last of three public hearings for residents to learn more and share comments on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:00am at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.

The County's existing Value Offset Exemption protects homeowners from tax increases due to increased property market values. Compared to the new Statewide Adjusted Base Year Homestead Exemption, the VOE protects against inflation and keeps County government taxes lower for homeowners. Learn more and read the County's intent to opt out of the Statewide Adjusted Base Year Homestead Exemption.
